An awesome new trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League dropped during The Game Awards yesterday evening, and it ends with a massive, and undeniably touching, reveal.
Yes, the late Kevin Conroy did indeed lend his voice to Batman one last time before his recent death, meaning this video game will mark his final performance as the Caped Crusader. With Rocksteady, the team behind the Arkham series of games, developing this Suicide Squad title, we've been hoping they might have enlisted the actor to play Bruce Wayne again.
Conroy sadly passed away on November 10 following a brief battle with cancer, but was clearly able to record his lines prior to becoming too unwell.
The teaser kicks off with Task Force X interrogating The Flash before Batman arrives and takes out a number of goons before setting his sights on Harley Quinn and company.
The lights then go out and Rocksteady pays tribute to the late Batman actor.
"The creators of the Batman: Arkham series are back with a brand new action-adventure shooter," reads a synopsis for the game. "The most dangerous villains in the DC Universe have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill the Justice League. Create Chaos in Metropolis. You are the Suicide Squad."
Those villains will be Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, and we're excited to get hands-on with this one. The game was supposed to be released this year, but ended up being pushed into 2023 after a few delays. That's a shame, though is also the right move if it ensures Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is as good as it can possibly be.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League arrives in stores on May 26, 2023.
