2K has announced the release date for NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, the 2-on-2 basketball arcade game by Saber Interactive, which will arrive on October 16th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC for a price of 29.99 Euros. To celebrate, they have distributed a new trailer highlighting some gameplay.
Julius "Dr. J" Erving, NBA champion Kevin Garnett, NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns and emerging star of the Celtics, Jayson Tatum, will be the cover stars in this cartoon and caricature version, one of the facets of this arcade saga.
The sequel will include more than 300 players in its launch, with new legendary additions such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, as well as more than 200 new additions that will be arriving over the months.
The game will be launched with ten new courts from different corners of the world, such as Washington DC, San Luis, Seoul and Australia, plus those that will be included later.
More than 100 unique movements and acrobatics will be included, some of the best known like the free throws of Michael Jordan, "Iceman" George Gervin's tray and the car alley-oop of LeBron James.
The personalization and the soundtrack will once again be unique aspects of the video game, giving personality to the whole title.
The title will include the Playgrounds Championship mode, which features an international league matched in cooperative or solo, as well as the single player Season mode, which recreates the experience of directing a team during the regular season and the playoffs.
Added to this are online matches for four players, cooperative games against the AI, improved matchmaking with dedicated servers, triple contests, crazy power-ups and custom games.
NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 will arrive on October 16th to consoles and PC.
