World War Z is a game based on the movie, which was based on the book written by American author Max Brooks. The game is being developed by Saber Interactive and is expected to come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.

Much like the World War Z movie, the game will feature very agile zombies—unlike the kind of zombies we're used to seeing in other franchises like Resident Evil—and will move in swarms, as well.

The new trailer released for the World War Z video game focuses on "The Horde", which is quite literally hundreds of zombies moving in swarms. A very interesting detail is that the developers have managed to have "The Horde" move using dynamic swarm simulation, which allows for zombies to climb piles of other zombies; just like in the movie.

World War Z also allows players to team up with friends or to play solo with AI teammates in order to survive these waves of zombies. While the developer still has a lot more information to share about this game, it looks like it could end up becoming quite the classic but, until then, we will have to keep waiting.

Take a look:

Watch the newest gameplay trailer showing off how World War Z harnesses the power of Saber Interactive’s Swarm Engine™ to bring to un-life to the series’ trademark hordes of fast-moving, fast-killing zombies.

World War Z will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
