It would be an understatement to say that fans of the
Shenmue series have been waiting a long time for the series to finally reach its conclusion; having
Shenmue II been released 18 years ago.
Thankfully, Deep Silver and YS have done a great job keeping fans of the series updated on the
Shenmue III project, although the game itself has seen quite a few delays in the past. The good news is that every time the game is pushed back, the following updates show some very noticeable changes that definitely justify the delays.
One of the things that the very first videos of
Shenmue III were heavily criticised for were the game's graphics; particularly the facial animations, or lack thereof, as well as their blandness. The developers took this criticism to heart and have vastly improved the game's graphics, as well as the controversial faces.
Today, Cedric Biscay from Shibuya Productions has posted a tweet with a brand-new screeshot that shows off the villainous Lan Di's new character model. The tweet also reveals that more information about
Shenmue III will be revealed at Magic Monaco on the 9th of March.
Shenmue III keeps looking better every time the developers release new screenshots, and players will finally be able to enjoy it for themselves when the game officially launches on the
27th of August for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
Shenmue III sees the continuation of the epic story-driven saga. The player controls teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki as he investigates his father's murder.
Shenmue III will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PC on the 27th of August in 2019.
