New SOUTH PARK Game In Development At Indie Studio Question, Creators Of THE MAGIC CIRCLE

New SOUTH PARK Game In Development At Indie Studio Question, Creators Of THE MAGIC CIRCLE

Question has revealed itself as the developer of a new South Park game. The indie studio previously worked on The Magic Circle, a satirical, dark comedy where you star as the hero in an unfinished fantasy.

Question Games, the small indie studio behind The Magic Circle, has confirmed they are developing a South Park video game. The studio posted a job listing for a lead level designer on the game, which will be based on the long-running adult animated comedy series from Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

No details were offered about the game, although the studio itself draws "on a long history of games with strong central narratives & diverse player-enabling systems with the goal of attempting to create new experiences in the same vein, but on a smaller scale."

Question's most recent game was The Blackout Club, a first-person co-op horror game in which a group of teenage friends investigate a monstrous secret beneath the skin of their small town. The studio also developed The Magic Circle, a dark comedic adventure in which you play as the hero of an unfinished fantasy game. Question's similar sense of humor could translate well to South Park's material.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone just recently signed a massive deal for the franchise that includes 14 movies, additional TV seasons that will see the show run until at least 2027 (its 30th anniversary) and a new game. The latest South Park game to be released was The Fractured but Whole in 2017. That game was developed by Ubisoft San Francisco in collaboration with South Park Digital Studios. It was the sequel to 2014's The Stick of Truth, which was developed by acclaimed RPG studio Obsidian Entertainment.

While Question is an independent studio, the team of developers have some impressive credits, which include BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, Dishonored as well sa the two aforementioned South Park games.
