Hello Games' Founder Sean Murray has just announced that some major changes are coming to
No Man's Sky with the inclusion of the
Beyond update that will be released at some point this summer.
According to Murray,
Beyond will be their "
most ambitious chapter so far, and something we’ve been working ridiculously hard on." The upcoming DLC will contain three major updates rolled into one larger free release. While two of them are still a big mystery, we know that the first one will be focused on
No Man's Sky's online component, including "
a radical new social and multiplayer experience."
Beyond will supposedly empower players everywhere in the game's vast universe to "
meet and play together," but it's still quite hard to say what this statement could possibly mean, and the update's short teaser trailer doesn't tell us much about its features either. What we know for sure is that
Beyond won’t require a subscription, won’t contain microtransactions, and will be free for all existing players.
While we're still waiting for further details on
Beyond, be sure to check out the update's teaser below:
Embark on an epic voyage to the center of a boundless universe. Entire galaxies lay waiting to be discovered. Be the first to land on beautiful, unknown planets teeming with life. Survive hazardous environments, where alien civilizations seek their fortune and outlaws take it by force.
No Man's Sky is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
