No Man's Sky is a game that promised to be a lot of things, and ended up elivering maybe half of that. It is probably no man's fault, but the fanbase the premise of the game created put the blame on one man. Sean Murray is one of the founders of Hello Games, the studio that developed and published
No Man's Sky, and he has been singled out as the culprit behind the deception.
When looking back, Murray was the face of the company and the official Hello Games spokesperson, so it's easy to see why everyone put the blame on him. The game was mismanaged, tried to chew off more than they could bit, and didn't have a plan B in case all else failed like it did. Over the past two years, they have been constantly updating
No Man's Sky and the game has seen some improvements that have somewhat pleased fans. The problem is that it was Multiplayer mode the major selling point of the game, and that was what everyone was looking forward prior to the game's release, and players still had not have proper confirmation about it until now.
During an episode of Inside Xbox, Sean Murray revealed that the official date the
No Man's Sky: Next will be coming out for the Xbox One is on the
24th of July. He also mentioned that Multiplayer mode will be available on the very same day the game launches, so players will be able to play the game with their friends right out of the box. Murray said that he wishes they could've done this sooner but he's glad that it's finally happening. On the same Multiplayer mode, Murray says that they've been play-testing it and
No Man's Sky now feels like a different experience. This will also applies to the other versions of the game, as Multiplayer mode will not be an Xbox One exclusive feature.
Sean Murray really seems to love the Sci-fi aspect that
No Man's Sky has, especially the sense of loneliness it offers, but he also talks highly of the new mode and compares it to
Battlestar and
Star Trek: Away Team. He mentions that players now will be able to explore together with a bunch oftheir friends, and meet random people and work together to survive, or simply prey on other people.
If everything that Murray is saying is true, players will definitely get a completely different, and improved experience. Hopefully this ends up working out for everyone and not become the massive disaster that
No Man's Sky saw upon its release.
No Man’s Sky is coming to Xbox One, which has long been hotly requested by patient Xbox fans. The Xbox version will come with Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises and NEXT from day-one, in 4K and HDR for Xbox One X.
