Inspired by the Sega Master System's classic Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is developed by Game Atelier and published by FDG Games, and will be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One this December.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is a 2D platformer with action-adventure elements, and with beautiful graphics and hand-drawn animations—which give the game a very cartoon-like, and unique art style akin to that seen in the Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap HD remake.

The game was also made in cooperation with Ryuichi Nishizawa, creator of the Wonder Boy series, who has been overseeing the project since its early stages of development and also gave his thumbs up to the developers of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap HD remake, so it is fair to say that Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is in great hands.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom did see a couple of setbacks, though, that have been pushing back the release date, but the publisher has announced that the game will finally be meeting its deadline as the game has just gone Gold and is ready to launch on the 4th of December.

Can Jin save Monster World Kingdom? Help our young hero defeat challenging enemies, discover hidden locations, upgrade powerful equipment, and more! You'll also unlock special forms with unique skills used to open new paths where mighty bosses and secret treasures await.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam on the 4th of December.
