Back in April of last year, rumours about a new Onimusha game were doing the rounds as Capcom was filing trademarks for the long-neglected, but never forgotten franchise.

As it turns out, Capcom wasn't planning a new game but an HD remaster of the classic Onimusha: Warlords released on the PlayStation 2 all the way back in 2001; as revealed by the developer in August of last year Onimusha: Warlords was being developed for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.

This new remaster isn't just enhancing the game's visuals, since it is also implementing analog stick controls, adding widescreen support for 16:9 televisions, and allowing players to change their weapons on the spot during combats.

As Onimusha: Warlords becomes available for home consoles and Steam today, Capcom has released a new action-packed trailer that goes over the game's new features to celebrate the occasion; as the perfect excuse for seasoned players to replay the game, and encourage newcomers to try this timeless classic.

Take a look:

Onimusha: Warlords arrives on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam on January 15, 2019 with a high-definition visual upgrade and features that will improve your sword-fighting adventure!

Onimusha: Warlords is available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam today.
