OUTRIDERS Community Appreciation Package Being Sent Out As Apology For Launch Issues

As a thank you to the community for sticking around through the server launch issues for Outriders, developer People Can Fly are offering to send out a Community Appreciation Package of digital gifts.

Outriders released on the first of this month and while many agree that People Can Fly's cooperative shooter-RPG is a mostly excellent game, its launch was marred by connectivity issues. Problems with the servers prevented many people who had purchased the game from actually playing it.

Although Outriders can be played solo, you still need to be connected online to play the campaign -- even if you are playing single-player without anyone else. Naturally, the community was not happy.

The problems are mostly fixed now and People Can Fly posted a very in-depth post-mortem explaining what had gone wrong. Additionally, People Can Fly are offering a Community Appreciation Package as an apology.

"Throughout all of this we really appreciated all your messages of support and encouragement and they helped us power through and improve the situation," the developer wrote. "We would like to thank each and every one of you. Beyond just saying it, however, we would like to confirm that we are working on a small "appreciation package" for our launch window players."

Anyone who played Outriders between March 31 and April 11 are eligible for the Appreciation Package. In addition to launch players, anyone who was a victim of the recent inventory wipe restoration will also receive the package.

So what's inside? According to the post, players will receive a "level appropriate" Legendary weapon and amount of Titanium. The package also contains the emote "Frustration," which People Can Fly notes is unobtainable at this time. "The irony here was not intentional but is fitting," the developer wrote.

Outriders is currently available for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, PC, and Google Stadia. The first patch was released earlier this week and features a bunch of fixes as well as cross-play between consoles and PC.
