THE WITCHER 3 Is Getting New DLC Based On The Netflix Series

CD Projekt Red announced that new DLCs will be coming to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt alongside the next-gen update later this year. The DLCs will be inspired by the Netflix show with more details to come.

While WitcherCon didn't culminate with the reveal of a new game, CD Projekt Red did announce that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is six years old, is getting new DLC. According to the developer, the DLC is inspired by Netflix's live-action series.

CDPR didn't reveal any specifics, only promising more info "soon." However, it's not too hard to imagine what this sort of DLC will consist of — perhaps some new cosmetics like armor sets, weapons, or something for Roach. I wouldn't expect anything major like the Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wind expansions.

The new DLC will likely be included alongside the next-gen update that's coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC later this year. However, CDPR did confirm that the DLC is not exclusive to the next-gen version. The DLC will be available for every version of the game, including the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the next-gen update will be free for everyone who already owns the game.

While the news of more DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is certainly welcomed, WitcherCon featured plenty of other exciting announcements and reveals. For starters, we learned that Season 2 of The Witcher will premiere on Netflix in December, and we even got to see the first official trailer. Netflix also announced that its anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will debut in August. The anime will focus on Geralt's mentor, Vesemir, during his early days as a swashbuckling witcher.
