Electronic Arts officially announced that BioWare's Anthem won't be released this year, but should launch in early 2019 instead. The official statement from the publisher's confirming the previous reports about the problems at BioWare after the troubled production of Mass Effect: Andromeda and rebooting the next chapter of the Dragon Age series. EA asks the press and fans to not look into it too much as it's apparently just a scheduling issue, according to Andrew Wilson, the EA chief executive.

From EA’s Blake Jorgensen's perspective, “It’s not a delay,”. The company wants to give the developer time to polish their first IP in years and it's just “the act of postponing, hindering, or causing something to occur more slowly than normal.” As for now, every single BioWare's studio is working on Anthem which is one of the most important projects in the prestigious studio's history.
