It seems that
Cyberpunk 2077 is back to the world of the living for good. After years of silence, the game's twitter came back to life with a single "
beep", the project is rumored to appear in a playable version at this year's E3 and we finally know who will be responsible for the soundtrack.
Bryan "Brain" Mantia, the artist who preciously worked with Tom Waits, Buckethead i Serj Tankian will score Cyberpunk 2077. Brain cofirmed this information in an interview with Audified and briefly commented on the challenges of creating the music that doesn't exist: “This project in particular has been a little challenging because the developers are looking for music that has never been heard before if that makes any sense… They are looking for music that would be made in the year 2077… I’m into it because I really love “white noise” and I figure that’s where music is gonna be in 60 years from now (lol)… Basically every frequency within the range of human hearing (20 hertz to 20 kHz)… Anyways, i’m really diggin’ the experimentation on this project!," Brain concluded.
The artist won't be working alone, as vocalist and composer Melissa Reese (
Bloodborne, inFamous: Second Son) and Marcin Pzybyłowicz (
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt) will also actively contribute to creating the soundtrack.
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have a release date yet, but hopefully CD Projekt Red will unveil some secrets in the near future.
