According to Siliconeria, a Japanese magazine has revealed that the first DLC for Dark Souls 3 will be released on October 25.  Reportedly titled Ashes of Ariandel, the DLC contains new magic, weapons, armor and a brand new map which will be exclusively for PvP. The magazine reporteldy contains a first look at a flaming sword and details two new spells, one which unleashes a blizzard and another which is a boomerang made of light.

Dark Souls 3 is currently available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Fan reception to the leak is mixed as not every Souls player is equally invested in the game's optional PvP scene.  The idea of paying more money for a DLC that's 100% PvP is off-putting for some, especially those who play offline so that they can't be invaded by other gamers.

It should be noted that their are currently mixed reports regarding the leak stemming from the magazine's translation.  Some sites are reporting that the DLC will only contain new PvP gameplay while other sites are reporting that the PvP map is only a portion of the DLC. We should have more details tomorrow when the official announcement is made by From Software.
