A Brand New DRAGON AGE Game Might Be Announced At The Game Awards 2018

The plot thickens, as we have yet another potential Game Awards 2018 announcement, this time coming from BioWare's Casey Hudson, who revealed today that the studio is excited to continue Dragon Age's legacy...

In January, we unofficially learned that the next Dragon Age is codenamed "Joplin" (BioWare's other game that was originally codenamed "Dylan" ultimately turned out to be Anthem) has been rebooted, at least once. According to Kotaku's sources, EA's goal was to implement more “live” elements into the game, suggesting that the studio was planning to add some online features into Dragon Age 4.

Shortly after Kotaku's report, BioWare general manager Casey Hudson officially announced that the studio is indeed working on a new Dragon Age, and Hudson described it as "story & character focused." In his opinion, the "live" element basically means that this Dragon Age 4 will continue storytelling after the main story, whatever it could mean. Hudson confirmed once again that BioWare is working on something that's "very Dragon Age" in April, and we will learn what it is next month.

"You know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff. Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy," Hudson explained in today's November Update. "Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)," strongly suggesting that some major Dragon Age announcements are imminent.

Considering that Hudson will be presenting Anthem at The Game Awards 2018, it only makes sense to anticipate even more news from BioWare during the main show, that will be livestreamed on December 6. Of course, there's always a chance that BioWare will announce this story-focused Dragon Age game is some other way, but we put a bet on some sort of announcement during TGA 2018.
