FALLOUT Is Prime Video's Most-Watched Debut After THE RINGS OF POWER

It's safe to say that Amazon will be making Fallout for years to come as the viewing numbers for the show's debut illicit a big Vault Boy thumbs up.

It was obvious that Amazon felt they had a hit on their hands with Fallout, as the streamer proceeded to repeatedly move up the video game adaptation's premiere date.

And it's a good thing that they listened to their inner voice, as Fallout debuted to over 65M viewers in its first 16 days of release, making it the second most-watched debut on the platform, behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Furthermore, the show takes the #1 spot, within the key 18-34 demographic that advertisers covet. Prime Video also adds that 60% of the program's audience comes from outside of the U.S.

That's especially important as Prime Video began incorporating ads into its streaming offerings back in January. Limited advertisements are shown at the start and near the end of select programs.

It marks another stellar first season debut for Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight, Westworld, The Peripheral).

Season 2 of Fallout was officially greenlit last week.

In reaction to the season 2 renewal, executive producers Nolan and Lisa Joy stated, "Praise be to our insanely brilliant showrunners, Geneva [Robertson-Dworet] and Graham [Wagner], to our kick-ass cast, to Todd and James and all the legends at Bethesda, and to Jen, Vernon and the amazing team at Amazon for their incredible support of this show. We can’t wait to blow up the world all over again."

Amazon's Fallout series premiered on April 11 with all 8 episodes dropping on the same day.

Nolan and his wife, Lisa Joy developed the series for Amazon, hiring Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner to serve as co-showrunners. Nolan directed the first three episodes of the show.

The adaptation will star Walton Goggins in the dual role of The Ghoul / Cooper Howard, alongside Ella Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank, Michael Emerson as Wilzig and Johnny Pemberton as Thaddeus.

Official Synopsis: Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them. From executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the creators of Westworld, starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins and more. All episodes arrive April 11 on Prime Video.

Jonathan Nolan is the ONLY person that can compete with Kevin Feige when it comes to producing and providing a coherent and consistent vision for an IP on the creative side for show runners and directors to follow. He and his wife consistently attract top talent and their productions look cinematic and grounded even in a world that is fantastic. Hopefully when James Gunn falls on his face they get Niolan to head the DC cinematic universe.
