Mass Effect is a series thats known for making well made games and allow players to make their own choices and change the outcome of their stories. It also is known to take place in large colorful worlds that are inhabited by exotic species and enemies. And the future installment Andromeda is no different. Andromeda is set to feature the largest universe in the Mass Effect series, and it will allow for players to do so much.
Mike Gamble had some interesting things to say regarding just how open and expansive the worlds in Andromeda are going to be. “If you look at the trilogy, you see all the hubs we created and the side content that came off the hubs. That’s one place to put it, but imagine that side content in a place where you’re not limited to keeping your weapon holstered. There are so many different elements we can bring in by putting it on those planets with exploration areas. It makes the number and the type of side quests that we can do that much more interesting, whereas before if you’re on the hub you’re kind of limited to a fetch quest type of thing."
Andromeda is set to stray away from locking players down in to small zones to explore, and will instead allow them to roam free and do tasks that not only help them progress in the game, but are also fun and enjoyable. Gamble commented on the things that you'll be able to do in Andromeda, and how they differentiate between each other. “There are combat-related encounters, puzzle-related encounters, narrative-related encounters, and a lot of things will happen that add more depth to the critical path.”
Some of the things returning in the game are loyalty missions, tasks that allow you to learn more about your allies and gain their trust. You'll get to navigate planets with 'The Nomad', a vehicle that will allow you to traverse any terrain be it large or small. It will even allow you to travel through hazardous area that would kill or harm you if you didn't use The Nomad. You'll be able to visit drop zones where you'll be able to gain vision for larger portions of the map. Its also been explained that this is how you can gain fast travel points in the game.
These are just some of the things that players will be able to do in Andromeda, a game that is set to release in March 2017.
