Lauren S. Hissrich, the writer responsible for the screenplays of Netflix's Daredevil and The Defenders has announced on twitter that the scipt for the pilot episode for The Witcher has been completed and the producers should give their reaction to Hissrich's screenplay soon. The writer has been working on the series' screenplay for quite some time, so there's a chance that everything goes smoothly.

The Netflix-Platige Image cooperation has started last year. Hissrich serves as The Witcher's showrunner and executive producer. The show is also produced by Sean Daniel (The Mummy), Jason Brown (The Expanse), Tomasz Bagiński and Jarosław Sławko (The Cathedral). Andrzej Sapkowski, the father of the series, is credited as a creative consultant, but his role is apparently purely symbolic.

The witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

Netflix's The Witcher doesn't have a release date yet.
