WitcherCon, the inaugural fan-fueled celebration of all things The Witcher, is set to take place next month on Friday, July 9. Ahead of the big event, CD Projekt Red and Netflix have revealed the schedule of virtual panels viewers will be able to tune in to from home. As a reminder, WitcherCon is going digital for its inaugural convention and will stream on both Netflix and CD Projekt Red's YouTube and Twitch channels.
The event promises to celebrate The Witcher in all its forms — from the video games to the Netflix series. CD Projekt Red has already confirmed, however, that no new Witcher game will be announced during the event and the list of panels seems to confirm this.
WitcherCon begins with its first stream at 1:00 p.m. ET on July 9. It kicks off with the panel The Witcher Season 2: Deck of Destiny. Anay Chalotra (Yennefer), Freya Allan (Princess Ciri), Mimî M Khayisa (Fringilla Vigo), Paul Bullion (Lambert), and executive producer/showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will participate as they "draw cards from an enigmatic deck of fan questions that will determine the path of the panel and the immediate fate of the guests." There's promise of surprising reveals, backstage insights, and more as they take us on a journey of filming Season 2.
This will be followed by a panel for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game and then another panel for The Witcher Netflix series. Converging Destinies will see Anya Chalotra and Freya Allen look back at their characters' journeys in Season 1 and preview what's in store for Season 2.
Other streams include the panel Memories from the Path: Stories Behind The Witcher Games and a pub quiz-style game Geralt of T-Rivia with panelists Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (The Witcher Showrunner), Declan De Barra (The Witcher: Blood Origin Showrunner), Philipp Weber (Acting Lead Quest Designer, CDPR), and Błażej Augustynek (Acting Lead Quest Designer, CDPR).
WitcherCon will close out with a panel featuring Geralt of Rivia himself. Henry Cavill will sit down with moderator Josh Horowitz for "an in-depth conversation about fantasy, destiny, and the wider Witcher Universe." There's also mention of "a surprise or two in store."
A second stream is planned for later in the day at 9:00 p.m. ET. While most of this content will be re-airing of panels from earlier in the day, there are a few extras like Part 2 of the Stories Behind The Witcher Games panel.
