Battlefield 6's Open Beta has been live in early access for a few hours now, but unfortunately, not everyone has been able to play. The start of this weekend's open beta has been met with full servers and incredibly long queues, sometimes totaling in the hundreds of thousands. Early reports coming out of social media have indicated wait times ranging from 20 minutes to several hours.
Obviously this is not ideal, but it's also not totally unexpected. The hype for Battlefield 6 has been massive, especially as the first new Battlefield game since 2021.
And really, this is sort of the point of a beta, to stress test the servers and ensure the game will be ready to go at launch.
"Since this is Battlefield’s biggest Open Beta ever, we’re putting in the work to ensure that players have the best possible experience and servers remain stable," Battlefield Comms noted. "To support this, we will use queues to protect the player experience but expect this impact to be minimal. You may encounter this during high peak moments, such as the start of servers going live. The team is working constantly to reduce any queue that takes place."
Another update just a few hours again added that the team is "working on a substantial increase in server capacity, which will reduce your time in the queue."
While servers may be stable now, it's possible server queues return as those of us in the United States begin to wake up and start the day.
Unfortunately, it's not just long queues that have impacted the early hours of the open beta. Just an hour ago, Battlefield Comms relayed an issue "where some players can't matchmake after finishing a match due to playlists being unavailable."
The only fix to this right now is just restarting your game client to resume matchmaking. Again, not an ideal solution given the server queues, but right now it's all we've got.
Thankfully, this is just the first day of Open Beta. The early access period runs from August 7-8 and will roll seamlessly into the first weekend of the full open beta (August 9-10). For those interested, you can jump into early access by obtaining a code simply by watching 30 minutes of a content creator streaming Battlefield 6 on Twitch anytime today or tomorrow. You will not need a code to access the full open beta beginning on August 9th. There's a second Open Beta weekend for battlefield 6 planned for August 14-17.
Battlefield 6 officially launches on Octobr 10, 2025. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
