It's fairly common nowadays for games, whether they're on the X-Box, PS4, or PC, to have a large file size, but it looks like one developer will be making an effort to change that very soon.

According to a new announcement from Rare, an important update is coming to Sea of Thieves that will significantly reduce the game's install size, shedding a number of precious gigabytes in the process.

This new update, which is set to be released on February 6, will go out across all supported platforms and will see the file size on the Xbox One go down from 35GB to 10GB. Meanwhile, the Xbox One X will drop from 47GB to 25GB, and the PC will see its original 47GB file size fall to 27GB.

Along with the reduction in the install size, the update will also reportedly allow Rare to "more quickly generate and transfer builds," enabling them to dole out improvements for Sea of Thieves more efficiently.
