The action adventure pirate game, Sea of Thieves, has been promising fans a crossplay option and making that feature one of its core components. However, the latest video posted in the Sea of Thieves YouTube channel, has executive producer Joe Neate speak about how that feature is optional and player vs player combat is taking center stage.

Joe Neate speaks about player behaviour, combat improvements and more coming in the February 6 update. The main focus of the video is the crossplay option for console and PC players. Neate states that if you are a controller user, you will have the option to play with other controller users only and not match into PC users.

The game will have two pools in the Arena mode coming in. You can opt in to stay with console players or enter the crossplay pool and get matched against PC players. This will be same in Adventure mode. For players using a keyboard and mouse in their console, they will be automatically entered in the crossplay pool. Check out the video to learn more about the new update and the details regarding improvement.
