After months of leaks and accidental listings, Activision officially announced
Spyro Reignited Trilogy two days ago with a wonderful gameplay trailer. The publisher has decided to release a collection of three games with Spyro,
Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and
Spyro: Year of the Dragon, which all debuted on Sony's first PlayStation. And just like Crash, Spyro requires some extra firepower.
Developer Toys for Bob faces an uneasy task. Last year's
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is not only the best-selling remaster of all time, but also "just" a great remaster, or maybe even a remake in the same vein as Bluepoint's
Shadow of the Colossus, considering the amount of work Vicarious Visions has put into making the game.
IGN has released a short video that shows the difference between the old trilogy and
Spyro after the "remaster" treatment. This visual comparison video proves that Spyro is in good hands. The game looks really similar to
Ratchet & Clank from 2016 when it comes to the artistic choices and it's hard to not marvel at the quality of graphics and wonderful "Pixar" animations. Without further ado, check it out:
