Sonic the Hedgehog will grace cinema screens for the first time (if you don't count his brief cameos in Disney's
Wreck-It Ralph) in just over a month's time. But what else does SEGA have in store for the blue speedster's future?
Recently, SEGA took to social media (
@sonic_hedgehog) to thank all of their fans and followers for supporting the
Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and their endeavours. Attached to the tweet was what appeared to be a pretty standard video of various conventions and games. However, upon closer inspection the video contained some hidden messages.
This find was subsequently confirmed by
Sonic the Hedgehog's PR head Aaron Webber and
TailsChannel managed to chronologically compile all of the hidden messages — as you can see in the tweet below:
It's certainly mysterious, vague, and intersting. For the most part, fans believe it has something to do with a follow-up to
Sonic Mania. That video game released in 2017. However, development began back in 2015 — a year which is directly referenced in the cryptic clues. What do you think this could mean for the future of the
Sonic the Hedgehog franchise?
