Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an all-new, dark, and twisted gameplay experience that's being developed at FromSoftware, the acclaimed
Dark Souls and
Bloodborne creators.
Sekiro will allow players to enter the brutal world of late 1500s Sengoku Japan - a bloody period of never-stopping life-and-death conflict. As the tension rises, a compelling story will unfold amongst the uncontrolled, spreading chaos.
The upcoming
Souls-like title is helmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of
Bloodborne and
Dark Souls III. At its core,
Sekiro is a third-person, action-adventure single-player-only game that puts players in the role of a hard-hearted warrior (dubbed
Sekiro), who is on the mission to rescue his master and exact revenge on his arch nemesis using his battle-hardened katana and the useful prosthetic arm.
According to the Game Informer crew, fans of

In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you are the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced and disfigured warrior rescued from the brink of death. Bound to protect a young lord who is the descendant of an ancient bloodline, you become the target of many vicious enemies, including the dangerous Ashina clan. When the young lord is captured, nothing will stop you on a perilous quest to regain your honor, not even death itself.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will launch on March 22, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
