Have you ever heard of Onmyoji? It’s an RPG created by NetEase that is available right now. The servers for the game are no longer available for players in Vietnam because the latest update came with content that violates Vietnamese sovereignty laws.

Bing Minh Software Services has ceased to operate the game in the country since October 16. Right now, we are not sure how many folks in Vietnam play this game, but one thing is for certain, they will all have problems until a compromise can be met, if ever.

"The reason is because in the latest update of the game provided by partners, we found a content that violates Vietnam's territorial sovereignty," the statement reads, via Google Translate. "We realize that this is a serious violation and immediately made the decision to stop providing games to local gamers."

The issue has everything to do with the "Nine-Dash Line." China has laid claim to this territory, but the same can be said for Vietnam and other big players in Asia. As such, it has long been an issue where several companies have gotten into trouble for it over the years.

We doubt things will ever change, but for now, let’s hope Onmyoji players in Vietnam will have little to no problems in the future.
