Sonic Mania got an update on the PlayStation Store UK that was quickly taken down. The reason may have been because it was wrongly uploaded as it was supposed to go live at the time that
Sonic Mania Plus was officially released.
The information comes from a few sources on social media. To be precise, a tweet by user
LiamCorrieAnimation, as well as a post on the
Sonic The Hedgehog Reddit community.
According to the sources, Sonic Mania got an early update that fixed some bugs, as well as adding some new, and additional options to the game and menus. Being able to skip cutscenes as well as turning the Time Limit off were some of the options added to the game, among others.
The patch has since been taken down but thanks to the power of the internet we were able to get some information, as well as some screenshots of the added features.
According to the Reddit thread, these were the features added:
