As promised on Saturday,
Subnautica: Below Zero is now available in Early Access on Steam Early Access, Epic Games Store, and Discord Store.
Below Zero is a stand-alone (which means you don't have to own the basic version of
Subnautica to play it) expansion set one year after the original game, challenging you to survive a disaster at an alien research station on the colorful Planet 4546B.
As a reminder,
Below Zero is by no means finished, as Unknown Worlds warns you that the expansion "
is full of bugs. It lacks polish, runs poorly, and is missing features. We are offering Early Access not because we want your money, but because we want your feedback. We make better games when we make them with you." To sum it up – this frozen underwater adventure is still a work in progress.
The developer also doesn't want to repeat their old release strategy and is aiming to launch the "1.0" version of
Subnautica: Below Zero simultaneously on XO, PS4, Mac, and Windows PC this time. Be sure to take a closer look at
the newest entry in the
Subnautica series
in its cinematic launch trailer below:
Dive into a freezing underwater adventure. Below Zero is set in an arctic region of planet 4546B. As a scientist posted to a research station on the planet's surface, you are tasked with studying alien artefacts... The Vesper space station orbits high above you, sending supplies, instructions, and receiving samples you launch from the surface. When disaster strikes the research station, you must improvise to survive: Construct habitats, scavenge for resources, and craft equipment.
Subnautica: Below Zero is available on Steam Early Access, Epic Games Store, and Discord Store NOW, coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at a later date.
