Megaton Rainfall is a first-person adventure game developed and published by independent developer Pentadimensional Games. The game was officially released on the 17th of October for the PlayStation 4, as a timed exclusive, and would later be released in November for Microsoft Windows. The PlayStation 4 version of the game is also compatible with PlayStationVR.
In
Megaton Rainfall, players take the role of a very powerful interdimensional being that can literally do anything and do anywhere. This being/superhero will have to save the world from an alien invasion that thretens to wipe humanity. Being as powerful as this being is, players will also need to be careful how they try to stop this alien invasion given that they can also contribute in destroying the Earth.
Another interesting aspect of the game is that it quite literally allows players to go anywhere they want on Earth, featuring a massive world full of cities that are being invaded by the aliens. Players can even fly into space and other planets if they so desire, completely giving new meaning to the term "open world".
Today, Pentadimensional Games has announced that
Megaton Rainfall will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch and Oculus Store on the
9th of August, and an Xbox One version of the game is set to arrive on the
5th of September. Much like the PlayStation 4 version of the game,
Megaton Rainfall will include gesture controls(VR), 4K support for the Xbox One X, and Free Roam mode. There's a PlayStation 4 Move patch also coming in August for people who already own the game.
