We've recently reported that Ubisoft's tactical shooter managed to cross 25 million player mark, which clearly indicates that the publisher's strategy of supporting and treating the project like a "game as a service" clearly paid off. In January 2018, Rainbow Six Siege's Year 3 will launch and besides adding operators and maps we should expect a brand new, similar to Call of Duty's game mode.
During a weekend panel, Ubisoft Montreal's developer said that the players will fight "against something that you might not totally expect" in the upcoming cooperative operation called Outbreak. It will be a free DLC available for all Rainbow Six: Siege players for four weeks. Outbreak will disappear after that time. Be sure to check out the video explaining how the shooter's future look like below:
The Siege is a brand-new style of gameplay embracing the reality of counter-terrorist operatives across the world: intense and asymmetrical close-quarters combat between attackers and defenders. As a defender, you will have the means to transform your environment into strongholds to prevent the attackers from breaching. As an attacker, you will have many planning options to face this challenge and defuse these situations.
Rainbow Six: Siege is available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC NOW!
