Ubisoft Has Released RAINBOW SIX: SIEGE Trailers Putting The Spotlight On Two Australian Operators

As promised a week ago, Ubisoft has finally released all-new Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege gameplay trailers, this time putting the spotlight on Gridlock and Mozzie, two deadly Australian Operators...

Ubisoft has finally released first juicy details on brand new Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege Operators, named Gridlock and Mozzie. In Operation Burnt Horizon, that is kicking off the fourth year of ongoing support and regular updates for the acclaimed tactical first-person shooter, these two new Operators will bring their unique skills and abilities, forever changing the core gameplay experience of Siege.

According to Ubisoft's notes on Burnt Horizon, the update "brings the action to Australia, introducing Gridlock, an Attacker who can deploy damaging clusters of spikes on the floor; Mozzie, a Defender who can hack the attacking teams’ drones and use them for his own intel-gathering; and a new map called Outback." In addition to the new level, Kafe, Kanal and Theme Park will be redesigned as well.

As revealed by the French studio yesterday, Gridlock "bolsters the attacking team’s area denial capabilities with her Trax Stingers. Throw one on the ground, and it immediately starts deploying clusters of Defender-damaging spikes in a radial pattern. Each Stinger produces quite a lot of spike clusters, allowing you to really jam up a staircase or a hallway, or cover a large area of a room."

On the other side of Siege is Mozzie, a Defender "who figures there’s no reason to bring his own drones to the fight when he can just steal someone else’s. Armed with his trusty Pest Launcher, Mozzie can hack the Attacking team’s drones and make them his own. [...] Once a drone is hacked, Mozzie is free to do drone things, like drive, jump, use shock charges, tag enemies, and park it in sneaky spots. He can’t pick drones up, and if he drives one outside for more than a few seconds, he’ll lose the hack and the drone will be lost, even to its original owner. Each drone Mozzie keeps in play is a valuable new intel source that joins the Defender camera feed for all to see."

See gameplay of the new gadgets in action on the free new map, Outback (a multi-building roadhouse set in the Australian desert), alongside a developer dairy and special edition of New on the Six below:

The Siege is a brand-new style of gameplay embracing the reality of counter-terrorist operatives across the world: intense and asymmetrical close-quarters combat between attackers and defenders. As a defender, you will have the means to transform your environment into strongholds to prevent the attackers from breaching. As an attacker, you will have many planning options to face this challenge and defuse these situations.
