Ubisoft has officially unleashed Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile worldwide, delivering the signature tactical intensity of Rainbow Six Siege to iOS and Android devices. The free-to-play first-person shooter, developed by Ubisoft Montreal with support from multiple Codev studios, is now inviting players everywhere to dive into high-stakes 5v5 Attack vs. Defense matches optimized for touch controls and on-the-go play.
At its core, Rainbow Six Mobile captures the DNA of Siege: strategic destruction, operator gadgets, and team-based decision-making. Attackers deploy observation drones for intel, breach walls/floors/ceilings with explosives, while defenders barricade entries, set traps, and monitor via cameras. Matches emphasize tension, positioning, and coordination, all in under 10 minutes per round perfect for quick mobile sessions.
Game director Olivier Albarracin expressed the team's pride: "The entire Rainbow Six Mobile team is incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and we can’t wait for players around the world to finally get their hands on it. Bringing the intensity, strategy, and teamwork of Rainbow Six into a truly mobile-first experience has been both a challenge and a thrill."
The game is built exclusively for mobile, with touch-optimized controls, short sessions, and performance tweaks for a wide range of devices. No PC/console cross-play at launch, but Ubisoft teases future expansions for players to enjoy.
The global debut coincides with it's first season kicking off titled: Operation Sand Wraith, a desert-themed update launching one week early. It introduces Deimos, a methodical hunter whose DeathMARK Tracker locks onto a single enemy, forcing a high-tension 1v1 duel until one falls. The season brings new cosmetics, challenges, and progression rewards, setting the tone for ongoing live-service support.
Rainbow Six Mobile arrives as Siege celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025 with Siege X: a massive evolution including 6v6 Dual Front mode, modernized maps, and audio/visual upgrades. With over 80 million registered players, Siege remains a multiplayer juggernaut grounded in operator selection and environmental tactics. Mobile distills this for portable play, appealing to Siege veterans and newcomers alike.
Download the game now via App Store or Google Play. The cost is nothing as the game is free-to-play with cosmetics via battle pass/store. Pre-registration rewards (for early birds) included essence and operator crates.
Rainbow Six Mobile fills a gap for players as tactical shooters on mobile often prioritize casual run-and-gun over strategy. With destructible walls, intel drones, and operator asymmetry, it stands out amid PUBG Mobile clones. Early impressions praise responsive controls and Siege-like depth.
For Siege fans, it's Siege on the go. For mobile gamers, a premium tactical entry. Operation Sand Wraith awaits so deploy your drones, breach wisely, and claim victory with your fellow players.
