Mega Man 11 is the latest entry in the
Mega Man series and fans just cannot wait for the title to be released. Coming for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on the
2nd of October,
Mega Man 11 promises to take players back to the past with some of the classic jump and shoot action
Mega Man games are so famous for.
Today, Capcom has shared, via the
Mega Man verified Twitter account, some concept art showing off the
Mega Man's Block Dropper special weapon from
Mega Man 11—which Rock gets when defeating Block Man, one of the new Robot Masters. In the concept art we get to see how they went from one preliminary design to a revision of said design, leading to the final design we're getting in the game.
As seen on the concept art, we can appreciate that the developers, and designers, wanted to go with a more traditional kind of weapon by giving
Mega Man a 'Block Gun' instead of the new Hand Weapon thingy he sports in the final design. What's interesting, though, is the fact that they always knew that they wanted
Mega Man to alter his appearance when getting a new weapon. This is something that hasn't been seen in previous
Mega Man titles—which is actually a very welcomed change.
Another interesting detail is that
Mega Man's Block Dropper was first revealed in
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2's in-game concept art, which came out way before
Mega Man 11 was even announced. That Block Dropper concept art became the first glimpse at a new game that we didn't even know existed, making fans talk about the design without knowing what to make of it—although every one seemed to agree that it looked pretty cool; and so it does.
Mega Man is back! The newest entry in this iconic series blends classic, challenging 2D platforming action with a fresh new visual style. The new Double Gear system boosts Mega Man's speed and power for a new twist to the satisfying gameplay the series is known for.
Mega Man 11 wil be available on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam on the 2nd of October.
