Tacoma is an adventure and exploration game developed and published by Fullbright, an indie developer known for 2013's acclaimed
Gone Home, that promises to have players enthralled throughout.
Tacoma was initially announced as an Xbox One and PC exclusive but was later ported to Linux, MacOS. The game focuses heavily on exploration where the player is aboard a seemingly-empty space station and is able to review actions and conversations of the non-player characters via an augmented reality device.
The novelty of the game is how it allows players to follow the actions of the characters, listen to their problems, fears, and clues that they may give away as the story of the whole crew unfolds in front of the player's eyes. The game got a lot of praise from videogame critics and players, especially because of the strong emotional connections that the game forges between the characters at the
Tacoma space station and the player.
Today,
Tacoma was officially announced for the PlayStation 4 and it promises to come with a few added extras including over 2 hours of audio commentary by the co-founders of Fullbright, which is a behind the scenes of sorts that includes commentaries from the designers, storytellers, animators, artists, and programmers so that players can find out how
Tacoma was made.
