Insurgency: Sandstorm is a sequel to the indie breakout FPS
Insurgency, 2014's multiplayer shooter that allowed you to play as a member of a trained team, that survival depended upon securing crucial strongholds and destroying enemy supply in the intense multiplayer and cooperative Source Engine (that is also powering Valve's acclaimed
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) based experience.
The upcoming sequel is currently available in an ongoing pre-order beta in Steam Early Access, with thousands of gamers already playing, testing, and providing feedback on everything from weapon balance to optimization improvements. The beta won't last long, as
Sandstorm will get a full version when it launches on Steam December 12th, also coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019.
The new overview trailer for
Sandstorm spotlights the online FPS' core gameplay mechanics, design of maps, modes, and even sound.
