As Riot Games previously explained, the length of the Teamfight Tactics Galaxies theme will continue for at least a few more months. Rather than introducing a completely new set, TFT Galaxies is getting a mid-set update, now officially referred to as Return to the Stars, which will introduce a few new champions and traits while saying goodbye to others.
To help players prepare for what's to come when update 10.12 drops next week, Riot Games released a new mid-set explainer video. The video offers a broad overview of some of the noteworthy changes coming to Teamfight Tactics Galaxies.
Among the notable mentions is the removal of the Void and Valkyrie traits. Kha'Zix, Cho'Gath,Vel'Koz, Kai'Sa, Kayle and Miss Forturne are all leaving the Convergence. Sona, Kassadin and Lux will also be leaving.
In their place are new champions and traits, such as Battlecasts and Astros. Battlecasts are mechanized units that "wreak fear and havoc among the ranks of their adversaries." Official patch notes detail that these champions can deal extra damage or heal themselves depending on the situation. Astros posses "unique abilities" that can aid you in battle in a number of ways, such as CC, additional XP or frontline tankiness. There's also a third trait, Paragon, which is only comprised of one champion, Janna. She's a tier 5 Guardian who can turn your basic attacks into magic damage, while also offering crowd control and an attack speed buff to ally champions.
In addition to the new champions and traits, the TFT Galaxies mid-set update will reset the galactic leaderboards (ranked play) and come with a new Battle Pass filled with unique cosmetic rewards. TFT Galaxies: Return to the Stars wil go live with patch 10.12, which is slated for June 10.
