On 22 March 2016, Sony announced that Evolution Studios was closed. On 11 April 2016, some of the developers responsible for the MotorStorm series and DriveClub officially joined Codemasters to develop Onrush, an arcade-style racing game in which players drive cars, motorcycles and off-road vehicles across large levels over hilly terrain in the same vein as Ridge Racer and, well, MotorStorm.
Wushu Studios was formed in Liverpool in August 2017 and as you can guess, the studio is also made up of former developers from Evolution Studios and Deep Silver. Last January, Wushu teased their first project as "an unexpected take on the science fiction genre," and thanks to an interview with DriveClub Audio Director Alan McDermott and Wushu’s Studio Head now, we finally learned more details about the game.
In an interview with DualShockers, McDermott mentioned that we can “look forward to a primarily single-player, narrative-driven experience”. The team is also apparently setting a high bar for production values, both in graphics and audio, which is not that surprising considering that the MotorStorm series' graphics were always top-notch and DriveClub is still one of the best-looking games of this generation of consoles.
The sci-fi game is currently being developed in Epic's Unreal Engine 4. For the moment no platforms have been confirmed as the studio is still in talks with publishers, and given that he game is running on UE4, there's a big chance that Wushu's debut will be a multiplatform project. Twitter user @shinobi602 who's responsible for the marketing & PR at Wushu, has also confirmed that the game won't be announced at E3 2018.
