The
Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage!, and
Year of the Dragon trilogy is universally remembered as the highlight of the PlayStation era as Insomniac Games' take on the 3D platformer subgenre changed the game. Activision purchased the
Spyro rights in 2008 and finally decided to do something with them. The last game with the purple hero,
The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, launched ten years ago.
The upcoming
Spyro Reignited Trilogy collection will include the first three games with the lovable purple dragon in the lead role, all built completely from scratch by developer Toys for Bob. Unfortunately,
Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been delayed to launch as a polished product. The remaster was supposed to hit stores on the 21st of September, but now will be available on November 13th.
Activision has released a special launch trailer that focuses on the remake’s biggest improvements and brand new features. It definitely seems that developer Toys for Bob will deliver a beautiful game, and the core gameplay mechanics look like a ton of fun, as the final product may have a chance to bring back childhood memories, that rare kind of joy and happiness.
