With no doubt, Cloud Imperium Games has managed to assemble an impressive cast. During your
Squadron 42 playthrough, you'll surely recognize faces and voices of Gary Oldman (
Darkest Hour), Mark Hamill (
Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Gillian Anderson (
The X-Files), Mark Strong (
Kingsman: The Secret Service), Andy Serkis (
Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and even Ben Mendelsohn (
Ready Player One).
To say that the latest story trailer for
Squadron 42 is pretty good would be an understatement, as the video features some truly breathtaking shots of alien planets and burning human facilities.
Squadron 42 will give you a chance to embark on a cinematic single-player adventure as a rookie Navy combat pilot that has to protect the mysterious Empire’s borders in the vast
Star Citizen universe.
The bad news is that the (too?) ambitious solo campaign was first announced in 2014 as a spiritual successor to the
Wing Commander series and older
Star Wars titles. Sadly, after a long strike of delays it was supposed to came out in 2018 but it has been delayed once again and doesn't have a specified release date anymore. Be sure to check out this fantastic
Squadron 42 story trailer down below:
