The upcoming
Spyro Reignited Trilogy collection features the first three games with the lovable purple hero:
Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and
Spyro: Year of the Dragon, all built completely from scratch by game developer Toys for Bob. The games were originally developed by Insomniac Games, studio that recently gave us one of the best
Spider-Man video game adaptations in history.
Despite being published by Activision,
Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been delayed to launch as a finished product. The remaster was supposed to hit stores on the 21st of September, but now will be available on November 13th. According to Toys for Bob, "
the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.” A quick look at the recent gameplay only confirms the studio's best intentions.
The IGN crew recently had a chance to check out the Breeze Harbor level, that was originally playable in 1999's
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. The image quality is outstanding and smart color-grading confirm that
Spyro will challenge 2016's
Ratchet & Clank and last year's
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for the title of the best-looking platformer of this generation. Be sure to check it out down below:
