The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is AcrSystemWorks and Swery's new action-adventure game coming for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam this 2018.
Swery is the pseudonym of Japanese video game director's Hidetaka Suehiro, who is known for
Deadly Premonition—which released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2010—and even worked as the designer in
Tomba 2! The Evil Swine Return.
Suehiro's new game is
The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories, a game we know absolutely nothing about other than it being an action-adventure game. The trailer that ArcSystemWorks released today, though, gives us an idea of what the game will play like—and it seems it will feature some platforming elements like those found in Playdead's
Limbo and
Inside games, even down to the gory deaths.
Since the trailer for
The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories was just released online, we should expect more information in the coming weeks or months, but the game itself looks actually quite intriguing. If they are, indeed, taking cues from other sidescrollers like
Limbo and
Inside, what they've shown looks very promising.
