THQ Nordic Confirms That A New SAINTS ROW Game Is In The Works (And Has Been For Quite Some Time)

The Saints Row franchise has remained dormant since the fourth instalment released back in 2013. Though a movie adaptation has been making moves as of late, it seemed that the franchise had been forgotten about on the video game side of things.

However, now THQ Nordic has announced that a fifth Saints Row game is in the works. In fact, it seems that a new Saints Row game has been in development for quite some time. According to the publisher, the game is in the midst of "deep development."

It's being developed by Volition and we know this as they commented on the news. In a recent tweet, the studio teased that the next Saints Row game will be "big, bold, and very badass." Three months ago, Deep Silver teased that there are "exciting things ahead for the Saints," and this is likely what they were referring to.

As for when we can expect the fifth instalment to arrive, well; during a recent investors call, THQ Nordic mentioned that they plan to release a minimum of two AAA games before March of 2021. There's a strong chance that the next Saints Row game will be one of them.
