As the series' first online-only game, Fallout 76 will take Bethesda's incredibly popular video game franchise into a whole new realm. But while the upcoming game will introduce some new features, the developers are working hard to ensure that mods continues to be an important part of the series.

During QuakeCon, Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard confirmed Fallout 76 will have private servers and revealed that players will be able to use custom mods on these servers.

However, Todd Howard did note that the developers haven't worked out all of the kinks, as "it's a complicated problem." Still, despite having some technical issues, he said they "are 100% committed to" making sure that modding is an important part of Fallout 76.

Like always, mods aren't necessary to enjoy any of the Fallout titles, but it's a fun experience that allows fans to customize numerous elements of the game in all sorts of interesting ways.
