Freedom Planet is a 2D platform adventure game, inspired by Sega's iconic
Sonic the Hedgehog series, developed by GalaxyTrailer and published by Marvelous!'s XSEED Games that was released for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
Originally the game was released in 2012 as a Windows demo in 2014, but after a successful Kickstarter campaign it is now available in the aforementioned platforms for players to enjoy at their leisure and enjoy all of the fast-paced action that
Sonic the Hedgehog games are known for.
On Christmas day of 2015, GalaxyTrail revealed that
Freedom Planet 2 was already being developed with a mysterious announcement trailer that didn't give away much but still made fans of the original
Freedom Planet excited; especially since the first game turned out to be one of the best Sonic games in recent years; without featuring any characters from the Sonic series, of course.
Now, almost a whole 3 years since
Freedom Planet 2 was announced, we're getting a bunch of new information about the game. First things first, GalaxyTrail reveals that they will not be giving us an official release date until the game is pretty much done, so fans are going to have to wait patiently for that release date.
GalaxyTrail also reveals that
Freedom Planet 2 has 24 stages for players to play through, which is 10 more stages than the original game featured. The game is also adding a new character for a total of 4 playable characters and a lot of platforming.
The developer reveals a whole lot more about
Freedom Planet 2 on their official Twitter account, so be sure to check it out by
