Publisher Paradox Interactive has been teasing a sequel to 2004's all-time RPG classic Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines for quite some time, but the wait is finally over –
Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is real and it's coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam, EGS, GOG) in 2020.
Bloodlines 2 is being developed at Hardsuit Labs, the renowned makers of
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare (the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions) and
Blacklight: Retribution. At its core,
VTM:B2 is a role-playing title, which means that in-game characters will react to your choices made in the vampire-infested Seattle. After an act of terrorism, the once-great city will find itself on the edge of extinction with the war for its blood trade ravaging the metropolitan area, and its up to you to save its citizens.
Your quest is simple – uncovering the sprawling conspiracy which plunged Seattle into a bloody civil war between powerful vampire factions – but the way you approach that mission is yours. According to the developers,
Bloodlines 2 will also feature a "
forward-driving, fast-moving, melee-focused combat system" that will allow you to live out your wild vampire fantasy. What's even better, the sequel is being written by Chris Avellone, Cara Ellison, and Brian Mitsoda, the writer of the original game.
