Vampyr is the action-RPG created by Dontnod Entertainment, the studio that also gave us the Remember Me and the Life is Strange series. This time, the French developer tackled with the subject of the 1919 Spanish flu that erupted in London that changed its citizens into hungry, craving blood monsters. The main protagonist, Dr. Jonathan Reid has returned from the Great War only to be killed, but death is just the beginning of Reid's journey of self-discovery. He has to learn who's responsible for his transformation, how to stop the disease - and most importantly - how to stay alive in the mad city.
According to Dontnod Founder and CEO Oskar Guilbert, Vampyr has sold over 450,00 copies across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC since its June debut. Long before the launch, publisher Focus Home Interactive had been saying that Vampyr's most positive forecasting envisions one million sold copies, but even getting halfway there will be considered successful as Vampyr is almost there.
Dontnod CEO Oskar Guilbert said in an official statement that the studio is "very proud, because since its launch, our newest project meets a great craze among players. Thanks to our new role as co-producer, we will greatly benefit from this commercial success." Dontnod Entertainment is currently working on a sequel to the highly-successfully Life is Strange and mysterious Twin Mirror.
