While fans might be able to enjoy a live-action Uncharted fan film, starring Firefly star Nathan Fillion, there's been no news on the official Tom Holland-led picture being developed by Sony.
Thankfully, the current director attached to the project, Shawn Levy, spoke to The Playlist and provided an update on Sony's Uncharted movie, revealing that it's closer than ever to the start of production.
"I mean, as of right now, the closest to the starting line is “Uncharted” in that it’s a massive title. We now have a very good script and we have our star in Tom Holland. That is now subject to schedule and additional casting. But I would say as of right now, that seems to be the most near horizon. And it’s a movie I’m very excited about."
It's clear there's still a lot of work to be done until filming begins, but it's still great to hear that things are still moving along nicely, especially since we haven't heard much since Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) was cast as Nathan Drake.
