Director Allan Ungar and actor Nathan Fillion teamed up to make one of the best video game adaptations ever made with their
Uncharted fan film, released earlier this week.
Pretty much since the beginning, fans of Naughty Dog's
Uncharted series have been wanting to see Firefly actor Nathan Fillion play the role of Uncharted series' main character Nathan Drake. It isn't only because Fillion looks exactly like Drake, but also because they even shre some very characteristic personality traitsthat make us think that Naughty Dog based Nathan Drake on Fillion from the get-go.
After the
Uncharted fan film was released, it received critical praise from everyone, even from the people over at Naughty Dog. According to IGN, Allan Ungar—the man behind the
Uncharted fan film project—the feedback they have got from people that saw the film has been very positive by saying that Ammy Hennig thought they did a fantastic job. Ammy Hennig is a former Naughty Dog employee, as well as head writer and creative director for the Uncharted series, so getting praise from her is pretty much getting their seal of approval.
In her tweet, Hennig said they did a fantastic job and that she could've never imagined seeing their "
baby brought to life" in the way Ungar and Fillion did. Ungar also added that Vice President of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, also showed his support. Nathan Fillion simply said "
it makes you feel good" in regards to the positive reception they got from Naughty Dog.
After the amazing reception the
Uncharted fan film got, we can only hope that they can turn this into a series of sorts—which can perfectly coexist with Sony's official
Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland. Whatever happens from now on, fans of the
Uncharted series can at least enjoy seeing Nathan Fillion finally playing Nathan Drake in Allan Ungar's
Uncharted fan film.
