We Happy Few is a horror game filled with a brutal madness. Your main goal is survival in a dystopian city, where the citizens of Wellington Wells take a mysterious cure called "Joy". It not only makes them feel better, but also drastically change their perception of reality. Sooner or later they stop seeing and ultimately ignore the slaughter that's happening around them.
The game is currently available on PC in the form of an open beta, but after a rather cold reception of Compulsion's game, the studio decided to push back the project and rethink the gameplay mechanics.
We Happy Few was supposed to release on April 13, but the date has been changed and the game will be available this summer. The developer wants to polish the game and add new content to hopefully please the (un)happy community.
We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who have their own set of not-so-normal rules. Currently announced for Xbox One, Windows, Mac and Linux, We Happy Few is currently on Microsoft Game Preview / Steam Early Access. The Mac and Linux version will arrive shortly after the final release of the game.
