The Sonic Games have ensured Yuji Naka's place as one of the most revered game creators of the 90s. In his capacity as head of Sonic Team, he was behind such well remembered titles as Sonic and Knuckles as well as the underrated Nights into Dreams. In 2006, he left Sonic Team in order to start his own independent studio called Prope. This studio released Let's Tap in 2008 for the Wii. In addition Prope also worked on some Digimon games for the Playstation Portable and Playstation 3.

Mr. Naka's collaboration with Square Enix marks his first high profile gig in quite some time. At this moment, hardly anything is known about the project he intends to work on. We'll keep you posted on further developments in the days to come.
